About me

I was born in the city of Siauliai, Lithuania, a country on the east coast of the Baltic Sea, Eastern Europe. None of my family was of a sporting background but my parents supported my interests in every way. When I was a little girl I remember my mother taking me to the ballet. I was always active, participating in dancing and aerobics. I danced from an early age until I began competing in Fitness. Being in front of an audience helped to give me the confidence in myself to be able to portray my body image in a competitive environment.

In 1997 I did take up weight training in my school's gym, after the trainer inspired me with the idea of trying something new. After only six months of training I started competing in Fitness. I was 17 years old and was placed 4th in my first Fitness competition and 1st in Mixed Pairs Class. Getting good positions inspired me to aim higher for the next year; also I could see my body developing and wanted to see how far I could go with it.

In 2001 I moved to the United Kingdom for better opportunities in life and work. Here I met Karen Marillier, who with her husband Harold Marillier run the Forest Gym in Crawley, West Sussex. She became my trainer and I her protégé. They are my friends and helped and inspired me to achieve my present level.

During my competitive beginnings in Lithuania I took six victories at the National Championships. Later, in my first year competing in Europe as a Figure competitor, I achieved first place both in the 2003 IFBB European (here I won the Overall) and World Body Fitness (as Figure is called in Europe) Championships. It was evident that Figure was for me and I therefore stayed with it.

The greatest competition for me was the British Championships in the autumn of 2003 which I won and finally earned my Pro Card. I was the first ever Lithuanian to earn a Pro Card for Figure. It was such an amazing thing to happen…”something I had never dared to dream”.

I made my Pro debut in 2004 and it took me two years to get on the stage for the IFBB Figure Olympia in Las Vegas by winning 2nd place at the 2006 IFBB Montreal Pro Figure Classic Show in Canada. In the same year I won my first Pro Show at the IFBB Netherlands Pro Figure in Holland. This had been my new goal since I got my Pro Card, and I was so excited to compete with all the best Pro girls in the World. In 2007 I was invited to compete at the prestigious IFBB Arnold Schwarzenegger Figure International and also had qualified for the Olympia in the previous year, which enhanced my standing in the sport.

After 10 years of competing without a break;in 2008 I decided to take some time off fromcompetitions. Having received lots of encouragement and support from friends, family and fans I returned to the stage in 2009. I came 4th in the Orlando Pro Show, so was only one place from qualifying for the Olympia for third time. In my personal life I had started studying so I had to decide which was most important at that time. I decided to take another break from competing to concentrate on additional qualifications, and now I am also a Professional trainer as well as competitor.

In 2013 I decided to return to competition once again, and do my best with a new eagerness/enthusiasm to succeed. I will keep doing it as long as it feels good and as long as I can see myself improving. I enjoy it so very much!

With desire and dedication dreams can come true. They did for me!...

Love, Inga
